Ingredients
Scale
2 oz Blanco Tequila
1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
1 oz Limoncello Liqueur
0.5 oz Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
Coarse Salt or Margarita Salt (for rim)
Lime wedge (for garnish)
Ice
Instructions
Prepare your glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass or margarita glass. Roll the rim in coarse salt. Fill the glass with fresh ice.
Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add the tequila, fresh lime juice, limoncello, and agave nectar or simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink.
Add ice and shake: Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice. Seal the shaker tightly and shake hard until the outside is very cold, about 15 to 20 seconds.
Strain and serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared, ice-filled glass.
Garnish: Garnish with a fresh lime wedge.
Notes
For a frozen Limoncello Margarita, combine all ingredients with 1 cup of ice in a blender and blend until smooth.
If you want a slightly different flavor, use a reposado tequila instead of blanco for a hint of oak.
Taste before adding sweetener; limoncello varies in sweetness. You may not need the agave nectar.
