Make these easy, themed Diploma Wrap Sandwiches for your graduation party. They look like academic diplomas and are simple finger food for a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound sliced deli turkey or ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese
  • 24 fresh chives, about 4 inches long

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until smooth. This is your spread.
  2. Lay out one tortilla flat. Spread about 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire surface of the tortilla.
  3. Layer a portion of the deli meat and shredded cheese over the spread, leaving about a 1-inch border clear on all sides.
  4. Starting from one edge, tightly roll the tortilla into a cylinder, like a scroll.
  5. Wrap the rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Chilling helps the wraps firm up for easier slicing.
  6. After chilling, remove the plastic wrap. Use a sharp, serrated knife to slice the wrap into 1-inch thick pinwheels.
  7. Take two chives and tie them around the center of each pinwheel to resemble a ribbon on a diploma.
  8. Arrange the Diploma Wrap Sandwiches on a platter for serving.

Notes

  • For an extra festive look, use tortillas with different colors, like spinach or tomato wraps.
  • If you cannot find long chives, use thin strips of roasted red pepper or thin strips of dried fruit leather tied around the center.
  • You can prepare the filling and roll the wraps a day ahead. Slice them just before the party starts.
