Make this simple, indulgent Texas Trash Pie featuring a sweet and salty mix of chocolate, pretzels, and pecans in a pre-made crust. It is a crowd-pleasing dessert that requires minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9 inch) pre-made graham cracker or cookie pie crust
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients. You will use a pre-made pie crust to keep this recipe simple.
  2. Spread the chocolate chips (both semi-sweet and milk chocolate), butterscotch chips, pecans, coconut, and crushed pretzels evenly across the bottom of the pie crust.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Pour the milk mixture slowly and evenly over the top of the chip and pretzel mixture in the crust.
  5. Chill the pie in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or until completely firm. Do not bake this pie.
  6. Slice and serve cold. This pie is a great alternative to complicated meal planning when you need a quick treat.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use a shortbread or Oreo crust instead of graham cracker.
  • If you are serving this at a large gathering, consider making two pies, as this sweet and salty dessert disappears fast.
  • This pie sets up best when chilled overnight.
