This warm, cheesy dip captures the savory flavor of classic stuffed mushrooms in an easy, scoopable format. It is perfect for game days or your next party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound baby bella mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or a similar-sized oven-safe skillet.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped mushrooms and onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their liquid and the mixture is browned, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, sour cream or Greek yogurt, and heavy cream. Mix until smooth.
  5. Stir the cooled mushroom and onion mixture, salt, and pepper into the cheese mixture until everything is well combined.
  6. Transfer the dip mixture to your prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the dip.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and the topping is golden brown.
  9. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes before serving warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette slices.

Notes

  • You can prepare the dip mixture (without the topping) up to 24 hours ahead of time. Cover and refrigerate. Add the topping before baking and add 5 to 10 minutes to the bake time.
  • For extra savory depth, brown 4 ounces of cooked, crumbled sausage or bacon and mix it in with the mushrooms in Step 3.
  • Serve this hot party dip immediately for the best texture.
