- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
- 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
- 1 (15 ounce) can refried beans
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies, refried beans, cream cheese, milk, chili powder, and cumin.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cream cheese is melted and the dip is heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with tortilla chips.
Notes
- For a spicier dip, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
- This queso dip is also great served over nachos or baked potatoes.
