Ingredients
Scale
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
10 oz marshmallows
3 tbsp butter
1 cup white candy melts
1/2 cup black decorating gel or black candy melts
24 candy eyes
Instructions
Grease a 9×13 inch pan with butter or cooking spray.
In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine marshmallows and butter. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stir, then microwave for another 30 seconds until smooth.
Add Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture and stir until well combined.
Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Let cool completely.
Cut the Rice Krispie treats into rectangles.
Melt the white candy melts according to package directions. Dip each rectangle halfway into the melted candy melts, letting excess drip off. Place on parchment paper.
While the white coating is still wet, place two candy eyes on the top half of each treat.
Once the white coating is set, use black decorating gel or melted black candy melts to draw thin, wavy lines across the white coating to create the mummy effect.
Allow the decorating gel to dry completely before serving or packaging.
Notes
For best results, melt candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until smooth.
You can also melt candy melts in a double boiler.
Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
These treats are best made the day before you plan to serve them.
For a different look, you can drizzle the white candy melts over the treats instead of dipping them.
