Ingredients
Scale
6 oz hot brewed coffee
1.5 oz Irish whiskey
1 tsp packed brown sugar
2 tbsp heavy cream, lightly whipped
Instructions
Warm a clear glass mug or heatproof glass by filling it with hot water; let it sit for one minute, then discard the water.
Add the brown sugar to the bottom of the warmed glass.
Pour the hot coffee over the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
Add the Irish whiskey to the coffee mixture.
In a separate small bowl, lightly whip the heavy cream until it thickens slightly but still pours easily; do not over-whip.
Carefully spoon or pour the lightly whipped cream over the back of a spoon held just above the surface of the coffee, allowing the cream to float on top.
Serve immediately without stirring.
Notes
For the best float, the cream should be just barely whipped, similar to the consistency of thin yogurt.
If you are managing a keto meal plan delivery, you may substitute the brown sugar with a zero-calorie sweetener.
