Ingredients
Scale
1 cup Half and Half (or milk/cream combination for desired richness)
1 cup Whole Milk
34 tablespoons Granulated Sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon Pure Vanilla Extract
Instructions
Combine the half and half, whole milk, and granulated sugar in a medium saucepan.
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling. This usually takes about 3 to 5 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the pure vanilla extract.
Allow the creamer to cool slightly before pouring it into an airtight container, like a glass jar.
Store the homemade coffee creamer in the refrigerator. It lasts up to two weeks.
Shake well before each use. Use 2 to 3 tablespoons per cup of coffee.
Notes
For a richer, cafe style coffee creamer, substitute the half and half with heavy cream.
To make this a brown sugar creamer recipe, substitute the granulated sugar with packed light brown sugar.
For a dairy free coffee creamer option, use full-fat canned coconut milk or oat milk instead of dairy products.
If you want a sugar-free coffee creamer, replace the sugar with your preferred zero-calorie sweetener, adjusting the amount to your preference.
