Make these simple, warm ham and cheese sliders using Hawaiian rolls for a crowd-pleasing party snack or quick dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12 count) package sweet dinner rolls (like Hawaiian rolls)
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli ham
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese (or cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the entire package of rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected in one piece. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the bottom layer of rolls. Top the ham with the slices of cheese, covering the entire surface. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the top of the rolls. Use a pastry brush to spread the mixture so the tops are well coated.
  6. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown and slightly crisp.
  8. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing between the individual rolls. Serve warm.

Notes

  • If you are planning your weekly meals, these sliders are a great addition to your meal planning schedule for easy lunches later in the week.
  • For extra flavor, you can substitute the Dijon mustard with honey mustard in the topping sauce.
  • If you prefer a different cheese, provolone or Monterey Jack work well in this recipe.
