Ingredients
Scale
1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup unsweetened plant milk (or regular milk)
1/2 cup Buffalo hot sauce
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (or vegan butter)
For Serving: Celery sticks and vegan ranch or blue cheese dressing
Instructions
Prepare the cauliflower: In a medium bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Dip the florets: Dip each cauliflower floret first into the milk, letting excess drip off, then dredge thoroughly in the flour mixture until coated. Shake off any loose flour.
Air fry the coating: Place the coated florets in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Air fry at 380°F (195°C) for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Make the buffalo sauce: While the cauliflower cooks, whisk together the Buffalo hot sauce and melted butter in a small saucepan over low heat until combined. Do not boil.
Toss and serve: Transfer the hot, crispy cauliflower to a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the cauliflower and toss gently until all pieces are coated.
Serve immediately with celery sticks and your favorite dipping sauce for the best texture.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the coated florets with cooking spray before the first air fry cycle.
If you prefer a milder heat, start with less hot sauce and add more to taste.
This recipe works well for baking too; bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
