Ingredients
Scale
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
8 ounces milk chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Place all chocolate chips, heavy cream, vanilla extract, butter, and salt into the basin of a small slow cooker (Crockpot).
Set the slow cooker to LOW. Do not cover it initially.
Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes without stirring to let the chocolate begin to melt evenly.
After 15 minutes, stir the ingredients together until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. This creates your homemade chocolate fondue.
Cover the slow cooker and keep it on the LOW setting for serving. Stir occasionally if the fondue thickens slightly.
Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.
Notes
For a Melting Pot copycat texture, use high-quality chocolate like Ghirardelli or Lindt.
If you do not have a slow cooker, melt the chocolate and cream gently over a double boiler on the stovetop until smooth. Transfer to a small serving bowl.
Keep the fondue warm on the LOW setting; avoid high heat, which can cause the chocolate to seize or burn.
For a richer flavor, substitute half of the heavy cream with half-and-half.
