Welcome to My Kitchen! This is the best Classic Cheese Ball Recipe, perfect for any party or holiday gathering. It is creamy, cheesy, packed with flavor, and super easy to make ahead of time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for mixing in)
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans (for coating)
  • Crackers, pretzels, or vegetable sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is fully combined and smooth.
  2. If you are using fresh parsley, stir it into the cheese mixture now.
  3. Place the mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap. Shape the cheese mixture into a ball.
  4. Wrap the plastic wrap tightly around the cheese ball and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 2 days. This step helps it firm up for easier coating.
  5. When ready to serve, spread the finely chopped pecans onto a shallow plate.
  6. Remove the chilled cheese ball from the plastic wrap and roll it gently in the chopped pecans until the entire surface is coated.
  7. Place the coated cheese ball on a serving plate. Serve immediately with your favorite crackers, pretzels, or vegetables.

Notes

  • You can make this cheese ball up to two days ahead of time. Keep it tightly wrapped in the refrigerator until you are ready to coat and serve it.
  • For a different coating, try using crushed bacon bits, dried minced onion, or a mix of dried herbs instead of pecans.
  • If you want a Ranch flavor, substitute the onion and garlic powder with 1 tablespoon of dry ranch seasoning mix.
