A quick 15-minute appetizer with garlicky bread topped with tomatoes, mozzarella, and fresh basil, finished with a balsamic drizzle.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread or baguette
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
  3. Mix the minced garlic with softened butter and spread evenly over the bread.
  4. Layer the mozzarella slices on top, followed by the tomato slices.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese melts and the bread is crispy.
  6. Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil, and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  7. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes after baking.
  • Use an air fryer for faster cooking—reduce time to 7-8 minutes.
  • Substitute with gluten-free bread if needed.
