Make a restaurant-quality white pizza at home using a creamy, garlic-infused ricotta sauce instead of tomato sauce. This recipe is simple, cheesy, and perfect for pizza night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for topping
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone or steel, place it in the oven while preheating.
  2. Prepare the dough: Stretch or roll the pizza dough into a 12 to 14-inch circle on a lightly floured surface or parchment paper. Brush the edges lightly with olive oil.
  3. Make the white sauce: In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  4. Spread the sauce: Spoon the ricotta mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a 1-inch border for the crust.
  5. Add cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  6. Bake: Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone/steel or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  7. Finish and serve: Remove the pizza from the oven. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley, if using. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, bake the dough plain for 3 minutes before adding the sauce and cheese.
  • If you are planning meals ahead, this recipe is a great alternative to relying on meal planning services.
  • This recipe works well with pre-made dough, making it an easy weeknight pizza option.
