Crispy, cheesy mozzarella sticks made in the air fryer for a quick and easy game-day snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Cut each mozzarella stick in half.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder and oregano.
  3. Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip in egg, and roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps for extra crispiness.
  4. Place the coated sticks on a plate and freeze for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  6. Lightly spray the mozzarella sticks with cooking spray and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  7. Air fry for 5-6 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve immediately with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • Freezing the sticks before air frying prevents them from melting too quickly.
  • For extra flavor, add grated Parmesan to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Use pre-shredded mozzarella if you don’t have string cheese.
