Cook perfect, juicy air fryer frozen shrimp straight from the freezer in under 15 minutes. This recipe requires no thawing and delivers crispy results for fast weeknight dinners or simple appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large frozen shrimp, peeled and deveined (no need to thaw)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Take your frozen shrimp directly from the freezer. Do not thaw them first. Place the frozen shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika to create your seasoning blend.
  3. Lightly toss the frozen shrimp with the garlic butter mixture until they are evenly coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap too much for maximum crispiness.
  6. Air fry for 8 minutes.
  7. Carefully pull out the basket and shake it well to flip the shrimp.
  8. Continue to air fry for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through. Total cook time is usually 11 to 13 minutes.
  9. Remove the shrimp from the air fryer, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For the crispiest air fryer frozen shrimp, avoid overcrowding the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  • If your shrimp are very large, you may need to add 1 to 2 minutes to the total cook time.
  • This method works well for raw or pre-cooked frozen shrimp, but adjust the final cook time down by 2 minutes if using pre-cooked.
