A reliable and easy-to-make 7 layer dip perfect for game day, parties, or any gathering. This classic recipe features distinct layers of flavor and can be prepared ahead of time.

  • 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope ranch dressing mix
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped fresh tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix refried beans with chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder. Spread evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In another bowl, combine sour cream, taco seasoning, and ranch dressing mix. Spread this mixture over the refried beans.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the sour cream layer.
  4. Top the cheese with chopped tomatoes.
  5. Garnish with sliced black olives and chopped green onions.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a hot version, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through.
  • You can add a layer of seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken between the refried beans and the sour cream layer for a meat version.
  • For individual servings, layer the ingredients in small cups or ramekins.
  • This dip can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
